AI Summit
The Middle Ground

The "Middle Ground" is an 8-hour Artificial Intelligence summit taking a balanced approach to the rapidly evolving AI field. It will cover the profound ethical implications of AI systems like privacy, bias, and value alignment, while showcasing demos of transformative AI capabilities in natural language processing, scientific discovery, and generative creativity.

A significant focus will be on developing sensible AI governance and policymaking. Topics include creating regulations for safe AI development, considering an "AI bill of rights", fostering international cooperation on AI principles, and planning for the long-term challenges of advanced AI and potential superintelligence.

This interdisciplinary summit aims to chart a wise path that unlocks AI's extraordinary potential while avoiding pitfalls by bridging the technical possibilities with the philosophical and ethical risks. AI experts, ethicists, policymakers, and leaders will navigate AI's uncertain future in vital dialogue.
