Teaching American History Workshop




This Social Studies professional learning opportunity will provide support with implementing the Social Studies TEKS, research-based instructional strategies focused on inquiry, historical thinking, future-ready learning, and access to quality resources targeted to provide support for all secondary courses (grades 6-12).

Important Session Information:


"Supreme Court Cases that Changed America" --Many Supreme Court cases have shaped our history and established legal precedent. This seminar will focus on the Constitution and Federalism, the Constitution and the Commerce Clause, and conclude with a look at significant Civil Rights cases and their opinions.  This program will be conducted as a conversation among peers, using primary documents as the only readings, and the Discussion Leader Professor Jason Stevens facilitating not lecturing. Registrants are highly encouraged to read the documents and come with questions. Teachers will receive a letter of attendance at the conclusion of the seminar.
