Donalyn Miller - The Joy of Reading: Joyful Reading Thrives in a Supportive Community




This Teaching & Learning professional learning opportunity will provide content, material, and strategies to assist educators in meeting the needs of students in their district.

Important Session Information:


Evidence shows that positive reading communities at school and home influence the reading lives and literacy development of young people. In this workshop, Donalyn Miller shares the benefits of supportive reading communities, the pitfalls when building school wide reading initiatives, and abundant resources for fostering your school reading community. The workshop includes extensive book recommendations of current and timeless books that engage students and can support independent reading or group reading and discussion. 

       1. Members of the Region 10 Library Services Package receive free registration.

         2. R10 teachers and Out of Region teachers who are not members of the Region 10 Library Services Package pay $150.00.

            Discounts will be reflected at checkout.
