Product versus Process Work in Pre-K

The creativity center in the Pre-K classroom is an area where students should use their creative minds to create something based on open-ended directions rather than specific examples from the teacher. This results in students using their imaginations to create art activities through a process-based approach.

In this half-day session, participants will learn the importance of allowing student’s creativity to be the central focus of art activities instead of everyone creating the same product from an example. The 2022 Prekindergarten Guidelines Fine Arts Domain will be used to guide this session, activities, and collaborative conversations among the participants.
