Meal Pattern - Whole Grain Rich




The Child Nutrition Program provides technical assistance, training and resources to child and adult day cares and school districts in order to promote effective management of the federal funded nutrition programs. This is in accordance with United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) regulations.


Important Session Information:


In Part 1, the learner will learn how to determine what a creditable grain is, what whole grain-rich means, and how to apply grain ounce equivalents.

In Part 2, the focus shifts to using ounce equivalents with the USDA measuring tool and on nutritional facts labels.
