The Region 10 Summer Session: Special Education First-Year Teacher Academy is a two-day induction program for special education teachers in their first to third year of teaching. Teachers will attend two full days of in-person training, join online collaborations, and team with a Region 10 Inclusive Team Mentor throughout the school year. The program focuses on topics such as, Managing the Classroom with Centers and Structure, Building a Tribe with your Campus and Evaluation Team, Teaching in Isolation, Time Management, Properly Constituted ARDs, Standards-Based IEPs, and TEKS Alignment. The Summer Academy is a condensed version of the year-long academy. Please refrain from registering for both programs.

Participation in both days is needed for completion.

There are two price tiers for this event

1.   Region 10 public local education agencies receive free registration

2.   Out of Region and/or Private/Non-Profit entities pay $300.00
