This Teaching & Learning professional learning opportunity will provide content, material, and strategies to assist educators in meeting the needs of students in their district.

The purpose of this workshop is to help Fine Arts teachers plan for student performance of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) more effectively. During the learning experience, teachers will learn how to leverage the TEKS when planning using backward design. Additionally, they will learn what administrators are looking for in T-TESS dimensions 1.1 and 1.2 by comparing exemplars and non-exemplars of units and lessons. Participants will apply their knowledge by using a template to design a TEKS-aligned unit or lesson. After feedback on their units and lessons, teachers will reflect, name a practice they plan on improving and set a goal to make it happen.
