Active Learning is an instructional approach for students with significant cognitive disabilities or sensory impairments and complex access needs. This session will go over information related to implementing the Active Learning approach.
Important Session Information:
This session will discuss how to utilize the Functional Scheme assessment designed by Dr. Lilli Nielsen to determine Active Learning students' functioning profile and learn how to use that information when developing students' present levels of academic and functional performance (PLAAFP) statements and Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals. Participants will also have time to discuss how to ensure IEP goals and Active Learning instruction align with the general curriculum.
