ALT - Administrative Leadership Training
17,000 Classroom Visits Can’t be Wrong: Strategies that Engage Students, Promote Active Learning, and Boost Achievement - Presenter: John Antonetti

Administrator Leadership Training is an ongoing requirement for district administrators as part of their professional growth-driven education.  Region 10 ESC, a TEA approved sponsor for these trainings, has initiated a cooperative of Region 10 districts/charter schools to:

  1. Identify needed training
  2. Schedule, communicate and deliver needed training. These training opportunities meet the professional growth needs of a wide variety of local district administrators and focus on identified major functions of a school district's central office.

The cost for Charter Schools/Districts/Private Schools who have not purchased the Region 10 Administrative Services Package and non-Region 10 participants is $200 per person, per event.

17,000 Classroom Visits Can’t be Wrong: Strategies that Engage Students, Promote Active Learning, and Boost Achievement - Presenter: John Antonetti

ALT Leadership Strand: Classroom Observation & Feedback

John Antonetti has had the great fortune to visit classrooms throughout North America in an effort to answer the question “What truly engages learners?” From thousands of students in pre-K through Graduate School, John has learned the three facets of powerful learning tasks—intellectual, academic, and emotional engagement. Mr. Antonetti works with schools across the country and Canada on student engagement, writing, rigor and relevance, and high–yield best practices. As the former Director of Curriculum in the Sheridan School District in Arkansas, he took what he learned in his home district and developed strategies and protocols that work across all school types. He has partnered with five school districts that were awarded the nationally–recognized Broad Prize for Urban Education.

Mr. Antonetti is the author of two books: Writing as a Measure and Model of Thinking; and 17,000 Classroom Visits Can’t be Wrong: Strategies that Engage Students, Promote Active Learning, and Boost Achievement. For this session, John will share how the classroom walkthrough can be a powerful leadership tool to improve instruction and maximize student engagement.
