Workshop overview
This workshop is designed for 8th grade mathematics educators in Texas who are either beginning to use the TI-84 Plus CE graphing calculator or who want to learn more to drive student success on the Texas 8th grade Mathematics EOC exam.
Educators will cover the key elements of teaching with the TI-84 Plus CE and TI-SmartView™ CE emulator software for the TI-84 Plus graphing family, and the workshop will focus on helping students use the TI-84 Plus CE to better understand key topics on the Texas 8th Grade Mathematics EOC exam.
By the end of the workshop, participants should feel comfortable with:
Leveraging the TI-84 Plus CE for exam questions in key reporting categories, such as Computations and Algebraic Relationships, Geometry and Measurement, and Data Analysis
Analyzing and solving a wide range of sample problems using graphs, tables and calculator tools
Exploring premade activities that reinforce technology skills and deepen student understanding of key EOC exam topics

What to expect from your in-person workshop
Twelve hours of hands-on, interactive professional learning held in a small group setting over two, six-hour sessions
Receive your TI technology and training materials at the workshop site
Receive a certificate of attendance that may be accepted as professional development credit from your school or district
We will follow local protocols and safety recommendations and request that all attendees do the same for the health of all in attendance
If circumstances change, we may need to cancel the workshop or convert this offering to a virtual workshop to comply with local guidelines, and we will notify all registrants as soon as possible
