There is a science behind teaching children to read. It involves teaching them to read the words on the page as well as understand what the words mean. In this session participants will gain an understanding of how to identify and focus instruction on a student’s specific area of need based on Scarborough’s Reading Rope and assessment data collected. We will explore text based small groups and skill based small groups in order to determine the most effective type to meet individual student needs.
This session will meet in the Rowlett High School Library.
