We hear the words “self-care” all the time, but do we really know what that means? For each of us, self-care may look very different. For some, yoga isn’t the only way. Taking time out for ourselves when there are so many demands on our time, both personally and professionally, can seem impossible. This workshop with focus on engaging in a dialogue and exploration of what self-care can look like in the real world. Attendees will learn about trauma-exposure response and explore individual and organizational action plans.
This work can be overwhelming. Our personal lives can be busy and hectic. Our attention and energy are needed almost everywhere we turn. We know if we really want to make a difference we must create space to take care of ourselves, so we can take care of others. Let’s get real. Are we taking the time to turn off and tune out in a meaningful way? In this workshop we will engage in a dialogue about a modern definition of self-care and the full-spectrum of actions that we can take to reclaim our sense of self in this work.
