Enhancing Historical Thinking Through Critical Conversations

Teachers need the resources to facilitate student discourse in all content areas. When students use structured tools to have academic discussions with their peers, they solidify and anchor their understanding of our content. In this session, we will use research-based practices from the Institute for Learning to implement Accountable Talk strategies in the classroom and increase meaningful discourse. We will discuss methods to facilitate student learning while enhancing their ability to think critically like historians.
