Revisiting Close Reading in the Intermediate and Middle School Classroom (Gr 3-8)

In this session, participants will explore the use of close reading in the 3rd - 8th grade classroom.  By guiding children to go beyond simple recall of information to analyzing the text for inferential meaning, all readers are allowed to progress from what the text says to what the text means, which is a critical prerequisite skill to writing effective constructed responses.
