Information:
The New Counselor Cohort is geared towards school
counselors with less than 3 years of experience, but all are welcome. The
cohort is an opportunity for counselors to seek guidance while collaborating
and networking with other new counselors across the region. Through this
experience, counselors will gain tools to build successful programs while being
supported and inspired throughout the process. These collaboration
opportunities will provide an empowering environment for counselors to
learn effective proactive strategies while building professional confidence and
forming powerful toolkits. Topics will vary by month. Counselors can
choose either an in-person or a virtual collaboration opportunity every
month. Each cohort meeting will include topics such as: Mental Health Wellness,
Mindfulness, the Texas Model for Comprehensive School Counseling Programs,
Collaboration with Administrators, SEL through the CASEL lens, ASCA Ethics for
School Counselors, and TEA updates.
