A “workshop” allows a group of people to share knowledge and experiences while pursuing common work. This session will focus on strategies to implement the workshop model in 6-12 ELAR classrooms so that students become engaged readers and writers with the ability to transfer skills across genres. Participants will look at workshop strategies through the lens of diversity and differentiation as they experience model lessons and seek application for their own classrooms. All session activities will support the ELAR TEKS adopted in 2017. Participants should bring a charged device and a text that they are currently reading.
