Learning at the Dallas Museum of Art
Juan Gris, Cubism and Leading Class Discussion that’s Outside of the Box

This Teaching & Learning professional learning opportunity will provide content, material, and strategies to assist educators in meeting the needs of students in their district.

Important Session Information:

Learn virtually with the Dallas Museum of Art!  Add to your repertoire of content by exploring the life and artwork of Juan Gris, a Spanish cubist painter who is well known in Europe and lesser known in the United States.  In addition to learning about Gris’ art as it relates to the cultural and historical relevance of Cubism, teachers will also experience and analyze, via demonstration and reflection, how to lead students in a discussion about art that sparks different types of thinking (T-TESS indicators 2.2 and 2.3).  This workshop will be facilitated by Lindsay O’Connor, Dallas Museum of Art Manager of Docent and Teacher Programs, and Dr. Meredith Clark, Region 10 Fine Arts and World Languages Consultant.  This workshop will be offered at the Dallas Museum of Art.  Bring a mask, and be prepared to observe social distancing guidelines as provided by the museum
