**Please note, this learning experience is a virtual event and will not be hosted at a physical site.**
In this session, the participants will explore Spanish as spoken in the United States by our students as well as how to use this as a starting point to lead students to use formal Spanish. These ideas will be modeled in a sample unit and activities will be shared that appropriately promote the use of academic language while honoring and validating student´s own language. This session is the second in a series of three facilitated by guest presenter Cecilia Lara, 2019 TFLA Administrator of the Year. While it is not required to attend all three sessions in the series, it is highly encouraged. Dates for sessions one and three are September 29th and February 16th.
