As a result of this workshop, participants will be able to: 1) identify what to evaluate in order to get good data, 2) evaluate student language samples and determine if they show evidence of the desired results for the course and 3) analyze data sets to determine strategies for future instruction and differentiation. This course is suited for teachers who already have a foundational understanding of backward design as it relates to planning and assessing in alignment with LOTE TEKS and the Language Performance Descriptors from ACTFL. Participants who need review in these areas are encouraged to attend the foundations workshop which will be facilitated on the day immediately prior: World Languages: Assessing Student Performance—Foundations.
