This book study will provide a practical approach to phonics instruction. Wiley Blevins shares seven critical ingredients that highly impact student learning - readiness skills, scope and sequence, blending, dictation, word awareness, high-frequency words, and reading connected texts. He shares a variety of resources to develop strong foundational skills as well as additional resources available on the book's companion website. In the final section, Blevins details the 10 common reasons instruction fails with practical suggestions to correct the missteps.
Participants are responsible for obtaining a copy of the book, A Fresh Look At Phonics, by Wiley Blevins.
