Evidence based writing is the kind of writing that will not only benefit students throughout their school careers, but well beyond their time in the ELAR classroom. That’s because the ability to deliver a well thought out line of reasoning is a valuable tool across all content areas and can boost reading, thinking, listening, and speaking skills too. In this session, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how to use the power of reading and writing authentically to create students who can reason logically and write longer constructed responses based on the ideas and evidence addressed in grade level complex literary texts.
**This is Part 1 of a two-part series which will help address the longer literary constructed response requirements on the redesigned ELA assessment. For a list of specific session objectives, click here.
