Every World Language educator should be able to call student attention to language form, meaning and use by activating critical thinking with the PACE high leverage teaching practice. In this workshop, teachers will meet via Zoom with Dr. Clark to experience a and analyze a model PACE lesson. Dr. Clark will then showcase and provide feedback on a real, anonymously submitted PACE lesson. After gaining knowledge of instructional moves and analyzing potential planning missteps, participants will have the opportunity to reflect on their learning and improve a lesson of their own or another example lesson. This workshop is designed for teachers who already have some knowledge and/or implementation of the PACE high leverage teaching practice. Participants with novice level experience with PACE are welcome to attend; however, it is highly recommended that they complete the online course World Languages: Communication and the Role of Grammar.
