Language and Communication

The early language environment, both home and school, are critical to student success. Given adequate opportunities to interact with responsive adults in language rich classrooms, young children’s language skills have the opportunity to expand rapidly during these years. Early childhood educators must be intentional about fostering a rich, early language environment in the classroom and supporting the language environment at home. Join us for this virtual, blended professional development experience where participants will examine the Language and Communication Domain of the Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines.  Use the example instructional strategies to support Language and Communication EOY outcomes throughout your instructional day. Harness the power of caregiver talk/conversation, as highlighted in the book Thirty Million Words: Building a Child’s Brain. Participants will attend and collaborate with other educators over a one-hour live webinar and receive the instructions to complete a two-hour, self-paced application.

All registered participants will receive all necessary content and materials, prior to the session or webinar date.

This session is free to all Districts/Charter Schools/Private Schools who have committed to the Region 10 Early Childhood Package. All non-Region 10 package participants will pay $100.00 per person for this event.
