This 1-day Introduction to LSCI course teaches the foundational skills of reaching out to young people during conflict and turning problem situations into learning opportunities. In addition to the skills taught in the LSCI Overview course, participants will learn:

• Key differences in the psychological worlds of adults and kids that often lead to conflict
• Specific skills for listening to young people in ways that build trust and cultivate communication
• The LSCI skills of Drain Off^© and Timeline^© to de-escalate a young person in crisis and help that young person put language to emotion, leading to insights and long-term behavioral change

Due to the COVID pandemic this workshop is being initially scheduled virtually via the Zoom platform.  You will need a stable internet connection and camera to participate. If the situation improves and it is safe to do so this workshop may be converted to a face-to-face format and be held at the Region 10 facilities in Richardson, Texas. An email will be sent out in advance to registered participants informing them of the change.

This event is free to all Region 10 Schools. Out of Region Participants will pay a $150.00 fee.
