The purpose of this Google Classroom session is to give teachers a deeper understanding and adequately prepare them to implement the components of sheltered instruction in their classrooms. This Asynchronous training will consist of several median sources like Webinars and assignments necessary for completion to demonstrate knowledge of strategies that make subject matter concepts comprehensible to English language learners while promoting the students' English language development. ***This blended session will be a combination of live zoom meetings to build background knowledge as well as independent work and collaboration through Google Classroom. The completion of the course will award teachers with 12 credit hours as they gain firsthand knowledge in making their content comprehensible to their ELs.***
This session will run from June 29th to July 10th and will last 2 weeks with a combination of live zoom meetings and independent work through Google Classroom. The live Zoom sessions will occur on the following dates/times:
