The intention of the APE BootCamp is to
equip the new APE teacher (or any interested APE service provider) with the
necessary knowledge and skills to assess, plan, program, draft goals, and
complete the ARD process, as well as collaborate with other teachers and
service providers regarding goal planning in APE. The five day BootCamp is
designed to be an integrated approach to learning and experiencing the
different aspects of APE in hopes of being exposed to as much “real world”
experiences as possible.Topics covered: Disability
Awareness, Assessment & IEP Writing, Prescriptive Planning, Behavior,
Pedagogy, Documentation, Special Olympics, Inclusion-Strategies, Partner PE,
and Disability Sports. At the
end of the week, our goal is the development of highly qualified professionals
to design and implement specialized instruction in the area of APE.
This training is free to any Region 10 teacher.
CEUs offered: 24 hours.
