This Teaching & Learning professional learning opportunity will provide content, material, and strategies to assist educators in meeting the needs of students in their district.
This workshop has been cancelled.
For students to become successful when reading and listening to authentic texts designed for native speakers, they must be able to perform vital literacy skills. If your students are struggling to interpret authentic texts and you are wondering how to help them be more successful, this workshop is for you! Participants will experience a model lesson, examine the components and practice the specific skills needed to find authentic texts, facilitate student interpretation and help students make meaning through text-based discussion. Research for learning is based on Eileen Glisan and Rick Donato's High Leverage Teaching Practice #3.
