Let's Plan for Full-Day Pre-K!

Planned, playful and purposeful Pre-K begins with a well-established daily schedule.  The Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines state that schedules give children a sense of structure throughout the day so they can anticipate when specific activities will occur and how long they will be engaged in these activities.  This sense of anticipation helps children begin to regulate their attention and emotions.  It gives them a plan for their daily routine.  Join us for this planning overview where we will highlight intentional full-day Pre-K schedules which embed phonological awareness, read alouds, writing, math, and language development within the daily routine.  Specific strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners, including struggling students, will be included.  Best practices that promote kindergarten readiness will be explored and discussed.
