Standards Based Goals and Objectives
Standards-Based Individualized Education Program(IEP) Process Training




Participants will learn how to gather meaningful data to develop Present Levels of Academic Achievement and Functional Performance (PLAAFP) statements and write measurable annual goals aligned with grade-level academic content for students receiving special education services.  By using the strategies presented, participants will be able to determine the critical area(s) impacted by disability (academic and/or functional) and determine the disability-related need(s) of the student. The information provided in the training meets accountability mandates of IDEA to improve the achievement of students with disabilities. 

FEE: There is no fee for this session for participants associated with Region 10.  Any registration from out-of-region or private school participants will include a fee of $125.00 per day.

This is an onsite 2 day training

You must attend both days - no partial credit will be given.

The focus of this session is developing present levels of academic achievement and functional performance (PLAAFP) development based on student data, drafting annual goals (academic and/or functional) and objectives, if appropriate, and collecting data for reporting progress.

Participants will understand the importance of these components and how their alignment results in an appropriate and ambitious individualized education program for students receiving special education and related services.

The intended audience for this training is special education teachers, related service providers, and any other professional staff responsible for drafting a student’s IEP, including present levels of academic achievement and functional performance and measurable annual goals.

This training was created by the Child Find, Evaluation, and ARD Support Statewide Technical Assistance Network in collaboration with the Texas Education Agency with state and federal grants.

There are two price tiers for this event

1.  Region 10 public local education agencies receive free registration

2.  Out of Region and/or Private/Non-Profit entities pay $150.00
