Important Session Information:
The Texas School Safety Center uses an evaluation criteria to review Independent School Districts and Open-Enrollment Charter School Districts emergency operations plans against state mandates and best practices. This session will assist district Emergency Operations Planning teams with creating their district’s Basic Plan using the templates created by the Texas School Safety Center.

Please Note: This training is open to Texas public ISDs, open-enrollment charter schools, junior colleges, school-based law enforcement, and state agencies that support schools.
The goal of the August 2023 Emergency Operations Plan Development Workshop & Review is to give districts a start on the annexes and appendices that are due October 25, 2023. The workshop is being taught by the TxSSC.
The workshop will
- Discuss the annexes and appendices that are coming up for all Texas districts.
- Share information on what is needed for the plans, where the resources are, and what legislative mandates and best practices need to be followed.
- Cover the Severe Weather, Hazardous Materials, Train Derailment templates and checklists, plus the annual Basic Plan checklist (which is a yearly maintenance checklist for the Basic Plan)
