Teaching with SCOTUS: The Stories behind the Cases (w/ Retro Report)




This Social Studies professional learning opportunity will provide support with implementing the Social Studies TEKS, research-based instructional strategies focused on inquiry, historical thinking, future-ready learning, and access to quality resources targeted to provide support for all secondary courses (grades 6-12).

Important Session Information:


 

Engage students with the history and consequences of Supreme Court cases by examining the stories of those involved. Participants will examine this collection of materials, developed with a Teaching With Primary Sources grant. From Korematsu to Nixon, affirmative action to busing, help students grapple with the complexities of SCOTUS decisions.

Notes: This is a virtual session via Zoom from 10:00-12:00.
