This all-day session will begin with Debra Buchanan Ed.D. Administrative Director and Stephanie Forbis, M.A., LPC Diagnostic Services Coordinator both from the Luke Waites Center for Dyslexia and Learning Disorders, Scottish Rite Hospital, discussing identification of dyslexia and ways that special education and dyslexia services can work together.

Karen Avrit, M.Ed, L.D.T, CALT, Q.I. and Director of Dyslexia Education in the Luke Waites Center for Dyslexia and Learning Disorders from Texas Scottish Rite will take an in depth look at the Dyslexia Handbook (Revised 2021) and what that means to therapists and administrators.  She will also discuss other related disorders such as dysgraphia, and research and intervention related to Early Childhood and Secondary students.  There will even be a portion of the day dedicated specifically to administrators and how they can help ensure the success of all students.
