Play Based Assessment




This learning opportunity will provide content, materials, and strategies to assist early childhood educators who support students with special needs.

Important Session Information:


Play-based Assessment is a functional, observational assessment for young children from birth to six years of age. A collaborative team that includes family members observes cognitive, sensorimotor, communication, and emotional and social development. This dynamic assessment process involves use of observational guidelines, age tables, and intervention planning tools.

This is a two day session. No partial credit will be given. Participants must attend both days for credit.

Participants MUST PURCHASE and bring the TPBA/I2 3-Volume Set from Paul H. Brookes Publishing.

2. Administration Guide for TPBA2 & TPBI2

3. Transdisciplinary Play-Based Intervention, Second Edition (TPBI2)

Materials will cost $150 per participant paid directly to Brookes. Instructions to order material are located HERE.
