Low Incidence Disabilities (LID) training
My Rights My Life Curriculum - This is ONSITE

Training relating to education or services for students with low incidence disabilities.

Important Session Information:

SAFE Austin's Disability Services staff worked with central Texas public school districts to develop a comprehensive healthy relationship, safer sexuality, self-advocacy and leadership curriculum for students with IDD. The My Rights My Life Curriculum is designed to give students with IDD the skills they need to be safer in all their relationships from friendships & family relationships to online or workplace relationships.

This all day Train the Trainer session will provide participants an overview of the curriculum, observation of a model lesson, and opportunity to learn and become comfortable with the curriculum through engaging activities, role plays, and group discussions.

The session also addresses common barriers to delivering healthy relationship and safer sexuality education and provides effective strategies for navigating those barriers. Participants will walk away empowered to facilitate the curriculum.
