McKinney-Vento Overview




This 3 hour training will teach participants how to identify, enroll, and serve students experiencing homelessness in public schools. Participants will also identify appropriate use of Title-I part A, set-aside funds, transportation strategies, and specific help for unaccompanied homeless youth.

Important Session Information:


This virtual session will cover the requirements of the McKinney-Vento Act.  Participants will walk away with a greater understanding of the overall McKinney-Vento Act including the educational definition of homelessness. The roles and responsibilities of LEAs and McKinney-Vento liaisons to support students experiencing homelessness with identification, enrollment and access will also be covered.  All are invited to learn.
