In this presentation, you will learn the importance of knowing the factors and warning signs of a variety of mental health challenges common among youth aged 12-18 such as anxiety, depression (including suicide risk), disruptive behavior disorders, and substance abuse and the best ways to provide initial “first-aid” help and support to youth who are showing signs and symptoms of a mental illness or emotional crisis. Information about the full 6.5-hour Youth Mental Health First Aid certification training and the 4.5-hour Teen Mental Health First Aid certification will be made available.
