Anyone who creates content (docs, PDFs, slides, social media posts, etc.) for public use must build that content accessible for those with disabilities and screen reader users -- it's the law.
- Purpose: Focus on main accessibility concepts and how to apply these concepts across multiple different software programs
- Practice: Hands-on practice exercises to increase your learning, understanding, and retention.
Ask yourself:
- What is 'web accessibility' about and why does it generate legal complaints?
- How do I make Google Docs and PDFs accessible?
- What are important steps to make slides compliant with ADA law?
- What are the do's and don't with images/graphics?
Goals & Call to Action: Learn how to apply best practices when creating documents, PDFs, videos, newsletters and social media posts so your content is available and usable by everyone, including those with disabilities.
- Bring your laptop & charger and get ready to learn!
- Bring a jacket if you tend to get cold
