An Introduction to Community Interpreting

This interactive training is designed for bilingual individuals working in dual roles in school settings-as interpreters and in a primary employment role-but is highly applicable to any school staff/faculty member involved in special education/ARD meetings or who interact with limited English proficient populations. Training covers some of the basics of interpreting, including the primary goals and functions of the interpreter, the modes of interpreting, and the interpreters; code of ethics or standards of professional behavior. Both days will build on participants prior experiences and will require direct application of skills through discussion, pair or group work and role play.

Registration is at 8:30 am. Event starts at 9:00 am. This event is free to Region 10 schools.
