This presentation focuses on the benefits of providing dynamic positioning and mobility options for people with disabilities as supported by current research. Particular attention will be given to exploring the dynamics of human gait and how that translates into providing adequate positioning support for people learning (re-learning) to walk. Adaptive equipment used for dynamic gait intervention will be demonstrated and techniques for optimal positioning and functional therapeutic use will be discussed. Case studies and practical examples will be used to apply the concepts to school-based practice.
