Special Topics in Evaluation
Empowering Multi-Disciplinary Team Evaluations with the Leiter-3

Special Topics in Special Education Evaluations

These sessions will provide special education evaluation personnel with information on topics related to the special education evaluation process. See the Important Session Information for additional details about this specific session.

Important Session Information:

Assessment of students with significant disabilities is often a challenging task for evaluation personnel as norm-referenced measures may not provide meaningful data to evaluators, school staff, or families. This session will provide training on the Leiter-3 which offers a completely nonverbal measure of intelligence that is ideal for use with those who are cognitively delayed, non-English speaking, hearing impaired, speech impaired, or on the autism spectrum. Rather than focusing on deficits, the Leiter-3 provides meaningful information about cognitive abilities. This session will also cover assessment best practices for multi-disciplinary team evaluations and provide a brief overview of norm-referenced and criterion-referenced assessment options.

There are two price tiers for this event:

1.   Region 10 public local education agencies may attend for free.

2.   Out of Region and/or Private/Non-Profit entities pay $125.00.

Discounts will be reflected at checkout.

If paying with a P.O., please send a copy of the P.O. to Heidy Carrillo at heidy.carrillo@region10.org.
