Join this hands-on professional development workshop for middle school educators to bring Lights Out, Texas! into the classroom. Explore bird migration, impacts of artificial light, and urban bird-building collisions. Experience the 6th–8th grade curriculum through interactive activities and gain practical strategies for teaching. Aligned with TEKS, the curriculum supports scientific inquiry, data collection, and critical thinking.

What you need to do to prepare for a great day of learning! 

Please bring a fully charged device and something to write with. 

Wear comfortable clothes and shoes for walking. 

Please bring a lunch and water (a refillable water bottle is highly recommended) with you. We are not able to refrigerate your lunch so we ask you plan accordingly.
