Join Law-Related Education for this interactive professional development session tailored to those most frequently tested units. Collaborate with college professors and other teachers as you deepen your understanding of TEKS that are challenging to high school students including standards in the following topics: Gilded and Progressive Eras The Inter-War Years - 1920s & Great Depression Civil Rights Contemporary America from 1970s to present This course will provide you with engaging strategies and lessons, including the use of graphic organizers, thinking pages for new item types, and so much more that support student success and enrich existing curriculum. Participants will: Explore the effective use of topic cards and graphic organizers to enhance student understanding and retention. Gain hands-on experience with new thinking pages designed to practice and master new item types. Discover innovative strategies and modifications tailored for diverse student populations, including those needing additional support. Learn best practices in literacy to engage all students, fostering an inclusive and dynamic classroom environment. Registration is free and lunch will be provided each day. Participants receive access to all materials upon completion of the course. Course Credit: Teachers will receive 12 hours for this institute.
