This session addresses the common belief that highly structured, standards-aligned curricula leave little room for flexibility or student responsiveness. This session explores what meaningful differentiation can look like within scripted lessons, emphasizing strategies that honor pacing guides and instructional intent while still meeting the needs of diverse learners. Participants will examine practical ways to extend thinking, increase depth, and provide appropriate challenge—especially for gifted students—without abandoning the structure of the curriculum. Teachers will leave with a clearer understanding of how to teach with fidelity and intention, rather than teaching only to the middle.
