School District Employees and the First Amendment

These days, it is more important than ever that HR administrators understand when employee speech is protected. This presentation will focus on real-life examples from cases that illustrate the limits of an educator’s rights under the First Amendment. Walsh Gallegos attorney Alicia Currin-Moore will also discuss viewpoint neutral regulations that a school district can adopt to avoid controversy and state laws passed in the 89th Legislative Session that expand employees’ right to religious expression at school.
