Despite best efforts in the classroom, many students continue to struggle with the Extended Constructed Response (ECR) portion of the STAAR. This session is designed specifically for campus and district leaders to uncover the root causes behind persistently low writing scores. Participants will gain a clear understanding of what ECRs require, analyze state and local data trends, and explore the critical leadership moves needed to support strong writing instruction. We’ll examine questions that drive systems-level change and identify what structures, expectations, and supports must be in place for teachers to deliver effective ECR instruction.
