Grammar can unlock increased reading comprehension as well as improved spoken and written communication. Many students have gaps in grammar knowledge that often diminish confidence and control of communication. This session is open to teachers of any grade because students from elementary to college can benefit from authentic and embedded grammar practice. Participants in this session will experience strategies to efficiently have students apply grammar standards specifically around compound and complex sentences. When students master these two sentence types, not only will revising & editing performance on standardized exams such as STAAR and TSIA2 improve, but also their own writing will, too.
