The Federal Grants Basics Series is for new Federal Program Directors or staff members that oversee the requirements and use of federal grants.
In this presentation, TEA staff will provide an overview of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) Local Educational Agency (LEA) Maintenance of Effort (MOE) fiscal compliance requirement. Attendees will learn how to effectively use the ESSA LEA MOE calculation tool to estimate their compliance status. Additionally, TEA staff will discuss the process for noncompliant LEAs to submit a waiver request to USDE. This session will equip participants with the tools and knowledge needed to navigate ESSA LEA MOE successfully.
