Participants will engage in an online program to earn their National Certification in STEM Teaching (NCST), supported by a dedicated coach throughout the process. The certification process will commence in January 2026. Additionally, the cohort will meet in person four times this year at various regional locations, including Frontiers of Flight (Fall), Sci-Tech Discovery Center (Winter), the Dallas Arboretum (Spring), and the Region 10 Service Center (Summer). Here is the entire STEM Cohort schedule, please note that the schedule is subject to change as we add more opportunities to our ESC calendar.

This training is designed to equip teachers with the tools, strategies, and mindset needed to deliver high-quality, integrated STEM instruction that prepares students for the demands of the 21st-century workforce.

Key benefits include:

  • Hands-On Strategies: Gain practical tools to engage students in inquiry, problem-solving, engineering design, and data analysis.
  • Workforce Relevance: Understand how to connect classroom learning to real-world STEM careers, helping students build future-ready skills.
  • Equity and Access: Discover ways to expand access to high-quality STEM learning opportunities for all students, regardless of background.
  • State Recognition***: Join a growing network of STEM educators across Texas and elevate your professional impact with a TEA-recognized credential- TEA Statewide STEM K-12 Teacher Training. Upon completion of the training, participants will receive a digital microbadge. Scheduled for July 2026.

This training is ideal for educators passionate about innovation, collaboration, and building strong STEM foundations for their students. Whether you're just beginning your STEM journey or looking to enhance your current practices, this training offers practical support, resources, and statewide connections to help you lead the way in STEM education.

***Completing this training allows you to join hundreds of other educators who have participated and earned one of the highest distinctions available for STEM in Texas from TEA. This session valued at $150 and will be 50% off as part of your benefits from registering for the 2025-2026 STEM Cohort. It is not a requirement to attend. However, this is the Statewide STEM training from the Texas Education Agency and is based on our Texas State STEM Initiative and is highly recommended for any district looking to sustain their STEM programming.
