Selective Mutism is a unique disorder that may affect communication in some children in many ways. The underlying cause is believed to be a Social Anxiety Disorder that prevents children from communicating in certain settings. This course will explore ideas for the evaluation, treatment and management of children with SM and how to develop a multi-disciplinary approach to address it.
