New to Head Start Summer 2026 Professional Development

Who: Teachers, instructional assistants, and floaters who are new to Region 10 Head Start programs.

The Head Start/Early Head Start New Teacher Summer Professional Development session provides a comprehensive introduction to the Head Start program, expectations, and best practices for early childhood education. Grounded in the values of the Head Start Program, the training emphasizes a whole-child approach that supports children’s cognitive, social-emotional, and physical development.  The session also addresses compliance, health and safety standards, and documentation requirements, ensuring teachers understand their responsibilities in maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment. 

For new staff, this training is essential. It equips you with the knowledge and tools to seamlessly integrate best practices and uphold compliance with Head Start Program Standards. Whether you're stepping into the classroom for the first time or bringing fresh insights, this training is indispensable for all Head Start educators.
